The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union has announced that this years ABU TV Song Festival will be held online.
During the 109th ABU Admin Council Meeting last week, it was confirmed that the 2020 ABU TV Song Festival will be held online due to COVID-19. The event which was due to be held in Hanoi, Vietnam this November, it would have been the second time that the country and city had played host to the event, having previously hosted in 2013.
The ABU has not yet announced the dates for the TV Song Festival, nor made a call for participating broadcasters to take part in the show. The ABU TV Song Festival was held for the first time in 2012 and is a non-competitive showcase from across the Asia-Pacific region. The following nations have taken part in the event:
