Ukraine will be represented by Natalie Papazoglu at Turkvision 2020 with a cover of “Sari Gelin”.
Ukraine brings the number of countries and regions confirmed as participating in Turkvision 2020 to 14. Ukraine will be represented by Natalie Papazoglu who was originally selected in 2016 to represent Ukraine at the contest.
For her performance at the online contest Natalie is joined by the Azerbaijani musician Emil Ganiyev to perform a cover of “Sari Gelin”. The song is a famous folk song from the Southern Caucasus about a girl who a boy loves but cannot be with.
Natalie is known to Ukrainian audiences having participated in the X-Factor Ukraine in 2015, making it to week six of the live shows, she finished fourth in the series. She also attempted to represent Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm.
Turkvision 2020
Turkvision 2020 is set to be hosted in Istanbul, Turkey this December and is being held entirely online. A Semi-final and Grand Final will be held for the first time since the 2014 contest in Kazan.
