Artists can now submit their songs for the first edition of the American Song Contest which will be held in 2022.
NBC has opened its online submissions platform to allow artists to submit their songs for the upcoming first-ever American Song Contest which is set to take place in 2022. Like at the Eurovision Song Contest, all songs must be original and not covers, those involved must be 16 or older.
The contest is open to anyone from the U.S. states, American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands and Washington, D.C. accepted. Must be 16 or older to apply. Unlike at Eurovision no rule for song length is listed at this time.
Acts will be competing to win the national vote with the best original song. Each of the fifty-six entries will be performed by a solo act, duo, band or DJ. The contest will be formed of three stages formed of Qualifying Rounds, Semi-Finals and a Grand Final. The winner is set to be determined by public vote and a jury of music industry professionals.
