It has been confirmed that ABU Radio Song Festival 2017 will take place in Bangkok, Thailand on April 27.

The 5th edition of the ABU Radio Song Festival will be taking place in the Capital of Thailand, Bangkok and will be hosted by the Thai broadcaster, National Broadcasting Services of Thailand (NBT). The showcase of talent in the Asia-Pacific region is heading to Thailand for the first time, having been hosted in Beijing in 2016.

The window in which countries can sign up to take part in the festival will be opened later in the year.  15 countries from an estimated pool of 25 countries will be selected to perform at the grand final in Bangkok on 27th April. It is yet unknown which countries are invited to perform for the contest’s fifth edition.

First held in 2012 the ABU Radio Song Festival is now a non-competitive event showcasing unsigned talent from across the Asia-Pacific region. To date a total of 21 countries have participated in the ABU TV Song Festival including; Australia, Singapore, China and Vanuatu. Participants for the festival are selected from member submissions by the ABU who create a show best reflecting the array of talent in the region.
