ABU TV Song Festival’16: China & Kazakhstan Change Songs

Both China and Kazakhstan have changed the songs that they will be performing at the 5th ABU TV Song Festival in Bali, Indonesia.

China’s Mo Siman will now be performing “The Love From Heaven”, it was previously announced that the Chinese singer would be performing “Melody of Love”. The song that Mo will be performing is the theme song for the China Tibetan Song Festival. Mo Siman’s story was then picked up by Sichuan Television who are the broadcaster behind China’s participation in the ABU TV Song Festival 2016.

While Kazakhstan’s Ayree will now be performing the song “My Motherland”. Ayree rose to fame in Kazakhstan when she made it through to the final of the first season of the Voice Kazakhstan in 2013. Ayree whose real name is Aigerim Rakish was born in 1992 into a family of professional musicians and grew up surrounded by music.

A total of 14 countries will be participating in the ABU TV Song Festival on October 22 in Bali, Indonesia. This years festival sees Mongolia debut in the contest, while China, Sri Lanka and Thailand are all returning. India remains the only country not to announce their participant.
