Erna Mirzoyan has been announced as the New Wave 2017 participant from Armenia, joining 14 other singers in Sochi.
Erna Mizoryan will be representing Armenia at New Wave 2017 this September in Sochi, Russia. Ehra is one of fifteen singers to have been selected to take part in this years contest. The singer is known in Armenia as part of the group Voices of Artsakh. Erna who is 18 years old is one of the youngest singers in this years competition.
The Voices of Artsakh is made up of 13 talented singers, including the Voice Kids Russia participant Levon Galstyan and Mikael Grigorian who finished second at New Wave Junior 2016 in Crimea.
Armenia debuted in New Wave in 2005 and has competed in 10 contests since, they are currently fifth on the all time list of most times participating in the competition. Armenia’s best result in the contest came in 2010 when Sona Shageldyan took victory in Latvia, she beat off competition from eleven other countries.

- Russia – Sasha Santa

New Wave was first held in 2002 in Jurmala, Latvia. The contest which is held over three days is open to singers age between 16 and 35 years old. The competition is incredibly popular within Eastern Europe with up and coming performers taking to the stage alongside well known guests from across the region. The contest has been a launching point for many careers including Intars Busulis, Natalia Gordienko and Jamala the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2016.
