It appears that Tunisia and Iran have both withdrawn from participating in the 2015 ABU TV Song Festival in Istanbul, Turkey.
The two countries were announced at the start of September as participating in this years festival but now no longer appear on the official ABU website as participating. Tunisia was one of three countries that were due to debut at this years competition, their entry was to be organised by the Arab States Broadcasting Union. It is not known whether the ASBU’s decision to withdraw from the ABU Radio Song Festival 2015 earlier in the year, on political grounds affected their ability to participate in the TV Song Festival.
Iran was due to return to the festival after last participating in the 2013 festival in Hanoi, Vietnam. It is not known why the Iranian national broadcaster has withdrawn from the festival. It does however appear that Hong Kong was a replacement for Iran, Hong Kong had previously not been announced as participating.
