Dami Im has been announced as the Australian participant in the 61st Eurovision Song Contest.
Dami Im represented Australia at the 2014 ABU TV Song Festival in Macau and was the countries last participant in the event. Dami was born in South Korea and moved to Australia at the age of 8, she rose to same within Australia after winning the X-Factor Australia in 2013. Dami has had a number 1 album in Australia and four top 50 charting singles in the country.
The song that she will be performing at the contest is to be revealed on March 11.
Dami said about being announced as the participant that:
I am so thrilled and honoured to be representing Australia at Eurovision this year in Stockholm. I am really excited to be following in the footsteps of Guy Sebastian and Jessica Mauboy who have both graced the Eurovision stage before me. I truly believe that the Australian public and Eurovision fans around the world are going to love the song I will be performing in Sweden. I cannot wait to showcase it to the world and represent Australia to the best of my ability!
