Spain Wins The 38th Baltic Song Contest

Spain has won the Baltic Song Contest which was held over the weekend in Sweden, It’s the first time that Spain has ever won the contest.

Gerson Galvan topped the jury vote with his song “Te Recuerdo” meaning that Spain walked away with their first victory in the competition. The Baltic Song Contest has been held every year since 1978, former winners include Brainstorm who represented Latvia at Eurovision 2000 and Ich Troje who represented Poland at Eurovision in 2003 and 2006.

The results were as follows:

  1. Spain – Gerson Galvan – Te Recuerdo
  2. Ireland – Janet Devlin – House of cards
  3. Belarus – Janet – You Will Be Here

The winner of the audience vote was Sarsa  from Poland singing “Naucz Mnie”. Also taking part in the competition were:

  • Italy – Geoffery De Vai – Delicante
  • Latvia – Antra Stafecka – Beyond the Storm
  • Netherlands – Bo Saris – One mo’ gain
  • Sweden – Joni – Chain you
  • Sweden – Kalle Johanson – All For You
