Zilija Bakhtieva the Turkvision 2016 entrant from Bashkortostan has received the support of the regions 2014 entrant Alifya Nigmatullina.
Alifya Nigmatullina who represented Bashkortostan at the Turkvision Song Contest 2014 in Kazan, Tatarstan as part of ZAMAN has given Zilija Bakhtieva a message of support. The two performers met last week in “Idel’2016” in the capital of Bashkortostan, Ufa. Alifya said in a post on Instagram that:
I wish you, my dear, good luck and super bright performances in the contest! I don’t doubt it, that you will represent our Republic in a dignified way!.
Since participating in the Turkvision Song Contest 2014 Alifya Nigamtullina has left the group ZAMAN to pursue a solo career. The singer who finished 4th at the contest has been performing alongside a number of bands as a special guest, the past week has seen her perform alongside the group Shurale.
Zilijaâ€™s won last yearsÂ selection process in Ufa, Bashkortostan. She had been selected as part of the group â€œAl-Salamâ€ to represent Bashkortostan in Istanbul. Bashkortostan along with a number of Russian regions was forced to withdraw from last years contest, due to a deterioration in relations between the Russian Federation and Turkey.Â She will be singing the song â€œDonya Mathurâ€ for Bashkortostan at the Turkvision Song Contest 2016. The songâ€™s title translates as â€œThe World is Beautifulâ€.

The Turkvision Song Contest was first held in 2013 in the Turkish city of Eskisehir. The contest which is open to Turkic nations and regions such as Turkey, Kazakhstan and Yakutia. The contest follows a similar format to the Eurovision Song Contest, with songs limited to being 4 minutes long. To date Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan have won the contest.
