Ivan Zdonyuk has been selected to represent Belarus at the International Pop Song Performers Contest at Slavianski Bazaar 2019.
Ivan Zdonyuk a 19 year old singer from Minsk has been selected to represent Belarus this summer. Ivan was one of ten singers who competed in the Belarusian national final which was held last night in Orsha. Ivan reacted to his victory saying:
Friends, these are incredible emotions. I’m in shock now. I want to say thanks to all the spectators and members of the jury, because these are incredible emotions when you come here. Here such an organization is cool. I want to say that I will meet with you at the Amphitheater in Vitebsk. See you.

In this childrens contest 11 year old Kseniya Galetskaya was selected to represent Belarus. She reacted to her victory telling CTV that:
I honestly, I did not expect it at all. The guys are all very talented. I prepared diligently, my favorite teachers helped me. And, of course, my family.
What is Slavianski Bazaar?
Slavianski Bazaar has been held annually in Vibetsk, Belarus since 1992. The event consists of two competitive contests, the International Pop Song Performers Contest for singers age 18 to 31, and the Children’s Contest for those age between 7 and 12. The competition is popular in the former Soviet Union, Baltic States and the Balkans. Winners include Ruslana, Zeljko Joksimovic, Donny Montell and Alyona Lanskaya. The Children’s Contest has been held since 2003 and former winners include singers who have gone on to compete in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. This includes former winner Ksenia Sitnik who won for Belarus in 2005.
