With auditions across Belarus now complete, the jury will soon decide who will represent Belarus at Slavianski Bazaar 2017.

Auditions were held in five cities across Belarus during November and December and it is now up to the jury to select the countries participants in the contest. Belarus will be selecting participants for both the International Pop Song Performers Category and in the Children’s Contest. A total of 25 singers have been selected from all of the audition rounds to go through to the second round, at which point Belarus will select their participant.

Slavianski Bazaar has been held annually since 1992 in the Belarusian city of Vibetsk. It is the largest international event that Belarus holds on an annual basis, with performers from over 20 countries competing in the competition annually.

To date Belarus has won the contest on five occasions making them the most successful country in the contest. Former Belarusian winners include Petr Elfimov, Polina Smolova and Alyona Lanskaya, all three of these artists have gone on to compete in the Eurovision Song Contest. In 2016 Belarus won the contest once again represented by Alexey Gross.
