Gunesh who represented Belarus at the Turkvision Song Contest 2013 will represent her country again at MakFest 2017.

This October Gunesh will travel to Macedonia to compete in MakFest 2017 alongside 30 other singers from across the world. The competition has been held annually in Stip since 1986, previous winners include Vlatko Lozansko and Vlado Janevski. Both singers went on to represent Macedonia at the Eurovision Song Contest, with Vlado Janevski representing his country on their debut in the competition in 1998.

Gunesh will compete in the contest with the song “Neba” which will be performed in Belarusian. Gunesh will have to compete in a semi final to earn her place in the final, with the winner of the competition being awarded 10,000 Euros.

Gunesh represented Belarus at the first edition of the Turkvision Song contest in 2013. She narrowly missed out on victory in the contest in Turkey scoring a total of 205 points, just 5 points behind the winner from Azerbaijan. She remains involved in the competition having written the song that Moldova will be represented by at this years contest in Astana.

The Turkvision Song Contest was first held in 2013 in the Turkish city of Eskisehir. The contest which is open to Turkic nations and regions such as Turkey, Kazakhstan and Yakutia. The contest follows a similar format to the Eurovision Song Contest, with songs limited to being 4 minutes long. To date Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan have won the contest.
