Bamze has been announced as the Bulgarian participant for the Turkvision Song Contest 2018.
Bulgaria’s representative in the Turkvision Song Contest 2018 has been announced. The official website of the Turkvision Song Contest has revealed that Bamze will be representing Bulgaria at the 4th edition of the competition. Bazme is from Dobrich and has worked closely with Romania’s 2015 participant Edvin Eddy. The song that Bamze will perform on stage has not been revealed.
Bulgaria were represented by Big Star Life at the Turkvision Song Contest 2015. They performed the song “İstanbuldayiz” and finished 6th with a total of 162 points, their best result in the contest to date.
The Turkvision Song Contest was last held in Istanbul, Turkey in 2015. The contest was then cancelled in 2016 due to issues securing a suitable host city for the contest, following security issues in Turkey. In 2017 the contest was due to return to the stage, hosted in Kazakhstan in Astana as part of EXPO 2017. However the contest was later cancelled due to a legal challenge.
The date and location of the this years contest has not been confirmed. It was revealed late last year that work was underway to bring the Turkvision Song Contest back to screens, read more here.
