Alberto Loreydis Pérez Zamora, Head of Delegation for Latin America & the Caribbean has made a call for singers to participate in Slavianski Bazaar 2018.
The Head of Delegation for Latin America & the Caribbean has made an open call for singers from across the region to apply to take part in Slavianski Bazaar 2018. Mr Zamora has been in charge of the regions participation in the contest for a number of years having studied partially in Belarus. Singers from across the region have gone on to participate in the competition such as:
A specific date for auditions to select the singers participating in Slavianski Bazaar 2018 has not been announced yet. However it is expected to take place before the end of this year, with auditions having been held in November for the region in both 2016 and 2017.
In 2017 the participants from Mexico and Colombia qualified for the final of the International Pop Song Performers Contest. Donatella Pelayo Rodriguez from Mexico placed 12th with a total of 121 points, while Colombia’s Asael Cuesta finished 13th with 120 points.

Slavianski Bazaar has been held annually in Vibetsk, Belarus since 1992. The event consists of two competitive contests, the International Pop Song Performers Contest for singers age 18 to 31, and the Children’s Contest for those age between 7 and 12. The competition is popular in the former Soviet Union, Baltic States and the Balkans. Winners include Ruslana, Zeljko Joksimovic, Donny Montell and Alyona Lanskaya. The Children’s Contest has been held since 2003 and former winners include singers who have gone on to compete in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. This includes former winner Ksenia Sitnik who won for Belarus in 2005.
