The host nation of the ABU TV Song Festival 2017, China, will be represented by two acts at this years event.

For the first time since the 2012 ABU TV Song Festival in Hanoi, Vietnam, the host nation will be represented by two acts. This year will be only the second time that the host nation of the ABU TV Song Festival has been allowed to be represented by two acts. Previously the rules of the event had limited all countries to being represented by just one singer.

It has also been confirmed that Sichuan Radio and Television are still discussing whether they will broadcast this years event live or on delay. Since the event was first held in 2012, the festival has always been broadcast live by the host broadcaster.

The ABU TV Song Festival 2017 will be hosted by Sichuan Radio and Television and is scheduled to take place on November 1st alongside the 54th General Assembly of the ABU. Overseeing the organisation of this years festival are Mr Tatsuhiro Beniko, Mrs Hanizah Hamzah and Ms Lai Kai Yan from the ABU, and Ms. Tang Wangi of the host broadcaster.

To date only the host nation of China and the Maldives have confirmed their participation in this years event in Chengdu.
