Crimea has confirmed that they will be competing for the first time in the Bala Turkvision Song Contest in Turkey.

Crimea will be making their first appearance in the Bala Turkvision Song Contest, as the region selects their singer for the contest tomorrow in Simferopol. Crimea had been due to compete in last years Bala Turkvision Song Contest in Istanbul, however the region was forced to withdraw due to a deterioration of relations between the Russian Federation and Turkey.

To date the following regions and countries have confirmed their participation:

  • Azerbaijan
  • Belarus
  • Crimea (Russia)
  • Kazakhstan
  • Sandzak (Serbia)
  • Stavropol Krai (Russia)
  • Turkey
  • Ukraine
  • Yakutia (Russia)

In 2015 Crimea selected Aliye Bekirova to represent the region with “Amanim yarim”. The lyrics for her song were written by Uriye Kadirova, while the music was written by DJ Bebek. You can listen to what was due to be the Crimean song in last years contest below:
