Two Turkvision Song Contest 2016 participants took part in the auditions round of Belarus’ Eurovision selection today, but they had very different outcomes.
Shir Charyev and Olga Shimanskaya took part in the auditions round of Belarus’ selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. Shir is representing an unknown country at Turkvision 2016, while Olga was announced as the Polish entrant in this years contest earlier today. While Shir was hoping to make it through to his first selection final, Olga was aiming to return to the televised selection for another year.
For Shir Charyev the auditions today saw him knocked out, he had hoped to take his song “Story of my heart†through to the final. This was not the first time that Shir has attempted to represent Belarus at the Eurovision Song Contest, in 2015 the singer attempted to represent Belarus at the Eurovision Song Contest, however he failed to make it through to the televised selection.
Olga however has made it through to the final of the contest as the lead singer of Napoli. She made it through to the final once again with the song “Let’s Come Together”. This is the fourth year running that Napoli will be competing in Belarus’ selection process with their best result coming in 2016 when they finished 2nd to Ivan. Olga will be performing the song “Masal gibi bu dünya†which translates as “This world is like a tale†for Poland at this years Turkvision Song Contest.
