Gagauzia will select the singer who will represent them at the Turkvizyon Song Contest 2016 today in the Gagauz Capital Comrat.
The final of Can Dalgasinda 2016 takes place this todayÂ with Gagauzia selecting their participant for the Turkvizyon Song Contest 2016.Â Singers in Can Dalgsinda must be aged betweenÂ 18 and 35 years old. At the final on SaturdayÂ the hopefuls will beÂ performing a pop song in the Gagauz language for 3 to 4 minutes. The winner of the selection will be decided by a jury who will be assessing the vocal capacity of the singers.

The winner of the selection will go on to represent Gagauzia at Turkvizyon 2016. The song they will perform will be internally selected, with it being written in the month and a half between the selection and the Turkvizyon Song Contest.
Last year Gagauzia had their best result ever in the contest with Valentin Ormanzhi who performed â€œSev beni sevâ€. He finished 10th in the final in Istanbul scoring a total of 154 points. To date Valentin is the only singer from Gagauzia to have made it through to the final of the contest.

The Turkvizyon Song Contest was first held in 2013 in the Turkish city of Eskisehir. The contest which is open to Turkic nations and regions such as Turkey, Kazakhstan and Yakutia. The contest follows a similar format to the Eurovision Song Contest, with songs limited to being 4 minutes long. To date Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan have won the contest.
