Fahrettin Gunes who represented Germany on their first appearance in the Turkvizyon Song Contest has releases his latest song “Turkiyem”.
“Turkiyem” which translates as “My Turkey”, is the latest release from the 2014 Turkvizyon Song Contest participant. “Turkiyem” is the same style that we have come to expect from Fahrettin Gunes, with the sounds of traditional Turkish music brought into the latest song.
Fahrettin represented Germany at the 2014 Turkvizyon Song Contest in Kazan, Tatarstan. The singer who was internally selected by the German broadcaster performed the song “Sevdiğim” at the Tatneft Arena in the semi final. Germany finished 21st out of 25 participants in the semi final scoring 149 points, they did receive the maximum 10 points from Bulgaria.

The Turkvizyon Song Contest was first held in 2013 in the Turkish city of Eskişehir. The contest which is open to Turkic nations and regions such as Turkey, Kazakhstan and Yakutia. The contest follows a similar format to the Eurovision Song Contest, with songs limited to being 4 minutes long. To date Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan have won the contest.
