India: Withdraws From ABU TV Song Festival 2016?

India appears to have withdrawn from participating in the ABU TV Song Festival 2016 in Bali, Indonesia.

India no longer appears on the official list of participating countries in the ABU TV Song Festival 2016. The country has been removed from the official list on the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union, leaving just 13 countries as participating in this years event in Bali, Indonesia. India had not revealed the singer or the song that would represent them in Indonesia.

India debuted in the TV Song Festival in 2015 where they were represented by Sanjeevani Bhelande, she performed the song “Radiant Ruby” in Istanbul. India joins Malaysia and Turkey as countries who participated in last years event but will not be taking to the stage this year in Bali.

The participating countries, the artists and their songs are as follows:

  • Hong Kong – Kayee Tam – Puppet
  • Indonesia – Novita Dewi – Terbang (Fly)
  • Japan – Kyary Pamyu Pamyu – (Song Unknown)
  • Kazakhstan – Ayree – My Motherland
  • South Korea – Ailee – Singing Got Better
  • Macau – Queena Tam – Aylan
  • Maldives – Laisha Junaid – Magey Rah
  • Mongolia – SweetYmotion – Missing Love
  • Sri Lanka – Shehara Liyanage – Something bout’ You and I
  • Thailand – Sinchareon Brothers Band – (Song Unknown)
  • Vietnam – Nguyen Thi Pha Le – (Song Unknown)
