It has been announced by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union that the 2016 ABU TV Song Festival will be held in Bali.
The date of the 5th ABU TV Song Festival is confirmed as October 22, with the event being held away alongside the ABU General Assembly. The host broadcasters of RRI and TVRI have opted to hold the event in Bali, the world renowned tourist destination which attracts millions of visitors annually.
The event is open to top class solo and group performers from ABU member nations. The rules of the event state that the performers shouldÂ reflect their countries culture and should perform in the national language of their country. The ABU will select up to 15 acts to participate in the event from the submissions process. The acts selected to participate will be from a variety of regions to reflect the diversity of the Asia-Pacific region.Â Countries interested in participating have until April 15 to submit their participation form to the Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union.
The following countries have participated in the event at least once:
- Hong Kong
- South Korea
- Sri Lanka
