Israel will hold their selection process for Slavianski Bazaar 2017 on March 8 in the city of Ashdod.
The Israeli selection is being organised by the International Centre for Cultural Relations “Israel-Belarus”, with the final being held on March 8 in the central city of Ashdod. Israel will select the singers who will represent them at the Children’s and International Pop Song Performers Contest of Slavianski Bazaar 2017.
To date Israel has won the International Pop Song Performers Contest once, in 1998 Rafael Dahan won the contest. Rafael went on to represent Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest 1999 in Jerusalem as part of the group Eden. In 2005 Shay finished joint 3rd with Belarus’ Gunesh, while in 2016 Anna Timofei finished joint 5th alongside the singer from Georgia.
