Chyltys Tannagashev who represented Kemorovo at Turkvision 2013 has released her second studio album “Uschy Elim”.
Shor singer Chyltys Tannagashev has released her second album “Uschy Elim” having spent eight years working on it. This album unlike her first is aimed at a domestic audience and focuses on the an ancient ancestral world, the spirits of earth, water, the eternal blue sky, ethnic improvisation and folklore.
Chyltys is not only well-known for her singing within Russia and the region of Kemerovo but also internationally having traveled the world showcasing her throat singing talents. She is also the basis of a German movie “Ausgerechnet Sibirien” in which a German manager is sent to Kemerovo by his employer and he meets a singer named Sajana based on Chyltys.
In 2013 Chyltys represented Kemerovo at the Turkvision Song Contest. She is a member of the Shor people. Shors are the indigenous people of the southern regions of the Kemerovo Oblast, as of 2010 there are 12,888 Shors living in the Russian Federation. Shors speak one of the worlds least spoken languages Shor, less than 3000 people in the Russian Federation currently speak the language.
