The Contest Returns To Friesland

Leeuwarden in Friesland, Netherlands is to be the host of the 2018 Liet International Song Contest, the song contest promotes minority languages across Europe.

The event is part of the Dutch cities time as the European Capital of Culture in 2018 and will be one of a number of events held during the year. A maximum of 22 countries and regions can participate in the contest which is seen as the Eurovision Somg Contest of minority languages. Leeuwardens hosting is also a return for the contest to the birth place of the Liet contest which the international event is based off of.
