Macau: Catalyser Set Off For The ABU TV Song Festival 2017

Catalyser, this years representatives from Macau at the ABU TV Song Festival, have set off to Chengdu ahead of the festival on Wednesday.

Catalyser have begun their journey to Chendgu ahead of this years ABU TV Song Festival, which takes place in just few days time. The group which is formed of Iron (Vocal), Agos (Bassist), Ana (Drummer), Daniel (Guitarist) and Eugene (Keyboardist), has been performing since 2012 and have released two albums to date.

Since their formation just five years ago the group has received a number of prizes and awards for their music, including Outstanding Band Award in both 2014 and 2015. The group was internally selected by TDM – Teledifusão de Macau to represent Macau at the ABU TV Song Festival 2017. They will perform “Midnight is the Time for God” in Chendgu.

The ABU TV Song Festival 2017 will take place on November 1 in Chengdu, China.

This years festival sees the debut of Turkmenistan and Zambia, while India and Malaysia make their return to the event having both last participated in 2015.

Since 2012 the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union has organised a non-competitive festival highlighting the talents of its member nations. Countries such as Afghanistan, Brunei, China and the Maldives have participated in the event, showcasing the best of their talented music industry. Songs taking part in the event can be the singers own or a cover. The event is planned to eventually be turned into a competitive contest.
