The finalists in New Wave Junior 2019 have been selected after a week of auditions were held in the Russian Capital, Moscow.
Eleven of the twelve finalists in New Wave Junior 2019 have been selected, with singers from ten nations taking part in this years competition in Artek, Crimea. All of the participants are known now apart from the singer who will represent Kazakhstan in May.
The singers taking part in the show are as follows:
- Sara Abramyan (Abkhazia)
- Iskender Gasanzade (Azerbaijan)
- Karina Ignatyan (Armenia)
- Yaroslav Sokolikov (Belarus)
- Erik Antonyan (United Kingdom)
- Nikol Alekseeva (Lithuania)
- Yulan Lowe (Malta)
- Alisa Golomysova (Russia)
- Oorzhak Denberel (Russia)
- Sergey Filin (Russia)
- Milana Pak (Uzbekistan)
New Wave Junior was held for the first time in 2008 and is the children’s version of New Wave. The competition is open to singers under the age of 12 years. Over 30 countries have participated in the contest since it was first held with Ukraine the most successful country in the contest to date. Former winners include Eurovision winners, Gaia Cauchi, Sofia Tarasova and Anastasiya Petryk.
New Wave Junior 2019 will take place on May 30 and 31.
