Kibris Genc TV has confirmed to Eurovoix-World.com that they will be competing in the Turkvizyon Song Contest 2016 in Turkey.
Mr Ertan Birinci the founder of Kirbis Genc TV confirmed that Northern Cyprus will be participating in the Turkvizyon Song Contest 2016 in Turkey. The country which was one of the original 24 to participate in the first contest in 2013, will be once again taking to the Turkvizyon stage this December.
Mr Birinci confirmed that the television station will be holding a televised selection process for this years contest. No specific date has yet been decided however Mr Birinci informed Eurovoix-World.com that the latest the selection would be held is November. The country used national selections to select both their 2013 and 2015 participants.
Last years contest in Istanbul saw Northern Cyprus receive their best result to date. The country was represented by Ipek Amber with the song “Sessiz Gidis” (Silent leaving), she finished 9th in the final with a total of 154 points. The country did not compete in 2014 due to Northern Cyprus only being recognised as a state by Turkey and no other state.
To date the following 15 countries and regions have confirmed their participation in Turkvizyon 2016 to Eurovoix-World.com:

- Khakassia (Russian Federation)
- Kumyk (Russian Federation)
- Northern Cyprus
- Sandzak (Serbia)
- Stavropol Krai (Russian Federation)
- Yakutia (Russian Federation)

The Turkvizyon Song Contest was first held in 2013 in the Turkish city of Eskisehir. The contest which is open to Turkic nations and regions such as Turkey, Kazakhstan and Yakutia. The contest follows a similar format to the Eurovision Song Contest, with songs limited to being 4 minutes long. To date Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan have won the contest.
