Pan Celtic Song Contest: Wales Wins The 2016 Contest

Wales has won the 43rd edition of the Pan Celtic Song Contest held last night in Carlow, Ireland.

Wales were represented by Cordia who won the Welsh selection process Can i Gymru with the song “Dim Ond Un” (Just One).  Cordia’s victory in the contest is the first time since 2011 that Wales has won the contest and marks the 15th time that Wales has won the contest. The band said on their official Facebook page that:

Winning Can i Gymru is amazing, but to win in the Pan Celtic Festival, wow!

The Pan Celtic Song Contest is an annual contest held as part of the Pan Celtic Festival. Every year singers represent Brittany, Cornwall, Ireland, Isle of Mann, Scotland and Wales at the contest.
