Olga Shimanskaya has finished fourth tonight in Belarus’ selection process for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Olga who was competing as Napoli at the Belarusian selection for Eurovision 2017 has finished fourth in the final. The singer was one of thirteen artists who took to the stage tonight in Minsk all hoping to be selected to compete in Kyiv. The singer was among the top.3 after the public televote where she scored 10 points out of a possible 12. However the jury gave her just 2 points leaving her with just 14 points.

The results of the selection were as follows:

  • Vladislav Kurasov – Follow the Play – (0+4) – 4 points – 11th
  • NAVI – Historyja majho žyccia – (6+12) – 1st – Winner
  • Isaac Nightingale – On The Red Line – (0+8) – 8 points – 8th
  • Kattie – Wild Wind – (1+0) – 1 point – 12th
  • NUTEKI – Take My Heart – (5+10) – 15 points – 2nd
  • NAPOLI – Let’s Come Together – (10+2) – 12 points – 4th
  • Nikita Hodas – Voices in My Head – (3+7) – 10 points – 6th
  • Angelica Pushnova – We Should Be Together – (4+3) – 7 points – 10th
  • Anastasiya Sheverenko – We’ll Be Together – (7+6) – 3rd
  • LERMONT x JULIC – Heartbeat – (0+0) – 0 points – 13th
  • PROvokatsiya – My Love – (12+0) – 5th

Olga Shimanskaya will represent Poland on their debut in the Turkvision Song Contest, performing the song “Masal gibi bu dunya” (The world is like a tale). No details have been revealed so far as to when the song will be revealed.

Belarus debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004 and has made it to the final on four occasions. For the past two years Belarus has failed to make it through to the final of the Eurovision Song Contest, this year IVAN finished 12th in the second semi final, 21 points away from qualification. Belarus’ best result in the contest came in 2007 when Dmitry Koldun finished 6th in the final with a total of 145 points. In total Belarus has qualified for the Eurovision final on just four occasions.
