Romania has selected Sunay Ses to represent the country at the Turkvision Song Contest next month in Turkey.

Sunay Ses (Sunai Giolacai) has been selected in a national selection to represent Romania at the 4th edition of the Turkvision Song Contest. Sunay was one of a number of participants to take to the stage yesterday in Romania, with a panel of judges deciding who would represent the country at this years contest. Included on the judging panel was Edvin Eddy who represented Romania at last years contest in Istanbul.

Sunay is an established performer within the Turkish music world in Romania. The singer is known for his performances accompanied by a live band of Turkish instrumentalists. The song that Sunay will be performing for Romania at this years contest has not been announced.

Romania was one of the original 24 countries and regions to participate in the first Turkvizyon Song Contest in 2013. At the 2015 contest in Istanbul, Romania had their best result to date with Edvin Eddy finishing 18th in the final with a total of 134 points.

The Turkvision Song Contest was first held in 2013 in the Turkish city of Eskisehir. The contest which is open to Turkic nations and regions such as Turkey, Kazakhstan and Yakutia. The contest follows a similar format to the Eurovision Song Contest, with songs limited to being 4 minutes long. To date Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan have won the contest.
