Romania will select their participant for the Turkvision Song Contest 2016 through a selection process held on 13 November.

For the first time since 2013 Romania is to hold a selection process to select the artist who will represent the country at the Turkvision Song Contest. The selection will be held on 13 November at the Casa Armatei in Medgidia. This years selection is being jointly organised by the Uniunea Democrata a Tatarilor Turco-Musulmani din Romania (Democratic Union of Turkish-Muslim Tartars in Romania) and Alpha Media TV. The deadline for singers to sign up to compete in the selection in 10 November.

According to the promotional video this years selection process, the Turkvision Song Contest 2016 will be held in Istanbul, Turkey. The host city of this years contest is yet to be confirmed by the organisers, with Istanbul, Ankara and Antalya all having been reported as host cities. Furthermore the video also shows the logo of the Bala Turkvision Song Contest, however the commentary makes no mention of the contest specifically.

Romania was one of the original 24 countries and regions to participate in the first Turkvizyon Song Contest in 2013. At the 2015 contest in Istanbul, Romania had their best result to date with Edvin Eddy finishing 18th in the final with a total of 134 points.
