Madina Kartakeyva has been confirmed as competing in the second edition of the Bala Turkvizyon Song Contest, this year in Turkey.
Stavropol Krai will be represented by Madina Kartakeyva at the 2016 Bala Turkvizyon Song Contest in Turkey. Madina was selected in 2015 to represent Stavropol Krai at the Bala Turkvizyon Song Contest, however was forced to withdraw following a deterioration of relations between the Russian Federation and Turkey.
Madina Kartakeyva was born on July 3, 2004 and is part of the Nogai people group. Nogai people number 103,660 in the Russia Federation, with the largest populations found in Dagestan and Stavropol Krai. Madina has been singing since 2013 and sees her idols as Adele and Sabina Mustaeva.
It is expected that Madina will be performing “Altyn Ordam” (My golden hordes) the song that she was selected to perform at the 2015 contest. The song is dedicated to the public figure and son of the Nogai people Keldasova Balbeka Adzhibayramovicha. He dedicated his life to educating people about the Nogai people and their culture. The words and music are written by Aynary Nurgishiyevoy.
To date a total of six countries and regions have confirmed their participation in the Bala Turkvizyon Song Contest 2016, they are; Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Stavropol Krai, Turkey and Ukraine.

The Bala Turkvizyon Song Contest was first held in 2015. The contest is the children’s version of the Turkvizyon Song Contest. Participants in the contest must be aged between 8 and 15 and perform their song in a Turkic language. The winner of the contest is decided by a jury made up one person representing each competing country. The winner of the first contest were Azerbaijan who were represented by Nuray & Ahmed and the song “Cocukluk Yillari”.
