Arghavan has revealed that she will be joined by two backing dancers at the Turkvision Song Contest 2016 in Turkey.

Arghavan the Swedish participant in the Turkvision Song Contest 2016 has revealed she will be joined by two backing dancers at this years contest. Arghavan is performing the song “Dircalis” written by Ylva & Linda . Arghavan will be joined on stage by Isabella Backe and Natalie Petrov, their routine will be choreographed by Isabella Alvarado. Sweden are the first country to reveal any details of their staging for this years contest.

Sweden are debuting in this years Turkvision Song Contest. The country is being represented by the singer Arghavan with the song “Dircalis” (Remedy). Arghavan was born in Iran but moved to Sweden at the age of three during a turbulent period in the country. She is a highly acclaimed artist, author, and singer. Furthermore she is an Ambassador for UN Women in Sweden and has dedicated her life as an advocate for freedom of expression and human rights worldwide. 

Swedish participation in this years Turkvision Song Contest has been brought about the hardwork of the writing duo Ylva & Linda. The two sisters have been working for a number of months to secure Sweden’s place in this years contest in Turkey. Sweden was officially invited to compete in the contest by the organisers of the Turkvision Song Contest. Since then Ylva & Linda have worked to find the right singer to represent Sweden, and have written and composed this years entry.

The Turkvision Song Contest was first held in 2013 in the Turkish city of Eskisehir. The contest which is open to Turkic nations and regions such as Turkey, Kazakhstan and Yakutia. The contest follows a similar format to the Eurovision Song Contest, with songs limited to being 4 minutes long. To date Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan have won the contest.
