Adil San who represented Syria on their debut in the Turkvision Song Contest has stated he would return to the contest in the future.

Adil San who represented Syria at the 2015 Turkvision Song Contest in Istanbul, Turkey has informed Eurovoix World that he would return to the contest. Speaking to Eurovoix World the singer said that he would return to the contest in the future, but currently does not have the facilities to enable him to return.

The Syrian Turkmen singer gained a large amount of coverage in the run up to last years contest for the comments he made regarding the Syrian Civil War. The singer who represented praised Turkey for welcoming the Syrian Turkmen population in their country, and spoke of hope for a future after the civil war. At the contest Adil received the special “Friendly Prize” for his song, overall he finished 5th with a total of 165 points.

The Turkvision Song Contest was first held in 2013 in the Turkish city of Eskisehir. The contest which is open to Turkic nations and regions such as Turkey, Kazakhstan and Yakutia. The contest follows a similar format to the Eurovision Song Contest, with songs limited to being 4 minutes long. To date Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan have won the contest.
