“Kimin Umrunda” the Turkish entry for the ABU TV Song Festival 2018 in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan has been revealed by TRT.
The official music video for “Kimin Umrunda”, the Turkish entry for this years ABU TV Song Festival has been revealed by the Turkish national broadcaster. The song which is set to be performed by Güliz Ayla and Bahadır Tatlıöz has been specifically written for the ABU TV Song Festival and will be the third song to represent Turkey at the show.
Güliz Ayla has released one self titled album to date and broke through in to the Turkish music industry in 2015. “Olmazsan Olmaz” which was released in the spring of 2015 has been viewed over 140 million times on YouTube, while her latest release from a month ago has been seen 7 million times.
Bahadır Tatlıöz has received similar success to his duet partner. His 2017 release “Takvim” has been watched by over 113 million viewers, with newer released also being watched millions of times. Bahadır has been performing professionally since the mid 2000s.
Turkey is returning to the showcase event having last participated in the show in 2015 when it was held in Istanbul. This will be the third time that a Turkish act has participated in the ABU TV Song Festival.
The ABU TV Song Festival is travelling to Central Asia for the first time, with Turkmenistan following on from China as the host nation of this years TV Song Festival.
This years TV Song Festival is being hosted by Television, Radio and Cinematography Turkmenistan (TVTM), with assistance from the South Korean broadcaster, KBS. The countries that are selected to take part in the festival “reflect geographical balance and the cultural diversity of the Asia-Pacific region.” Furthermore all of the performers must sing in their national language and showcase their nation’s culture.
TRT Muzik will be broadcasting the ABU TV Song Festival 2018 live to viewers across Turkey on October 2.
