Natalie Pazaoglu has revealed to Eurovoix-World.com that she will be singing the song “Tikenli yol” for Ukraine at the Turkvision Song Contest.
In an interview with Eurovoix-World.com which is to be published tomorrow, Natalie has revealed she will be singing the song “Tikenli yol”. The song’s title translates as “A thorny path” and has been specifically written to compete in the Turkvision Song Contest. Regarding the song, Natalia said that:
This is my story to the core,Â the story about the struggle for life, the story of power and light. If you have good intentions and pure soul you will always win. This is a very strong, deep sense and emotional song. This is a cry from the heart. You will hear folk instruments ofÂ two cultures in the modern musical language.
Natalie is one of three ethnically Gagauz participants in this years Turkvision Song Contest, with the representatives of both Moldova and Gagauzia also being Gagauz. Overall there are 240,000 Gagauz people living in Europe, of which 31,900 currently live within Ukraine.
Natalie Papazoglo was selected to represent Ukraine in Turkey from four singers who took part in the audition round in Odessa. The audition round took place at the Hotel Atlantic with Olga Taushanzhi, Nikolay Cholak, Yuliya Mitioglo (Sister of Anna Mitioglo Turkvizyon 2015 participant) and Natalia PapazoglouÂ taking to the stage.Â Natalia is already known to Ukrainian audiences having participated in the X-Factor Ukraine in 2015, making it to week six of the live shows, she finished fourth in the series.

The Turkvision Song Contest was first held in 2013 in the Turkish city of Eskisehir. The contest which is open to Turkic nations and regions such as Turkey, Kazakhstan and Yakutia. The contest follows a similar format to the Eurovision Song Contest, with songs limited to being 4 minutes long. To date Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan have won the contest.
