Uzbekistan’s Turkvizyon 2014 participant Aziza Nizamova has released a duet with Ravshan Sobirov, “Bokser” (Boxer).
Aziza’s latest single is the first that has seen the singer work with Ravshan Sobirov. Furthermore it is the first time that the Uzbek singer has released a song featuring English. The song is about the success of the Uzbek boxers at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. At the games Uzbekistan won 3 golds, 2 silvers and 2 bronze medals in the boxing, making them the most successful country in that sport.
Aziza Nizamova represented Uzebekistan at the 2014 Turkvizyon Song Contest in Kazan, Tatarstan. The singer performed “Dunyo boʻlsin omon” (World peace) in Kazan, finishing in 7th place in the final with 183 points. The result remains the best result for Uzbekistan in the contest.

The Turkvizyon Song Contest was first held in 2013 in the Turkish city of Eskişehir. The contest which is open to Turkic nations and regions such as Turkey, Kazakhstan and Yakutia. The contest follows a similar format to the Eurovision Song Contest, with songs limited to being 4 minutes long. To date Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan have won the contest.
