Nilufar Usmonova who represented Uzbekistan at the first Turkvision Song Contest has released her latest song “Kel ikkimiz”.
The first singer to represent Uzbekistan at the Turkvision Song Contest, Nilufar Usmonova has released her latest single. “Kel ikkimiz” tells the story of a relationship falling apart due to an abusive husband and the emotional torment that the wife is subjected to due to his decisions. Nilufar is well known for her emotional ballads, which are normally based off of experiences she has had or stories she has been told.
Nilufar is one of the biggest names in Uzbek music having followed in the footsteps of her mother. At the age of eight she appeared for the first time in one of her mothers song, it was a decade later before she released her first single. To date she has released a total of four albums, with her 2015 release “Dunyo” being her latest. Alongside her career as a singer she has also appeared in a number of films.
Nilufar will be known to Turkvision fans as the countries first entrant in the contest performing the song “Unutgin”, she finished 11th out of 12 countries in the final scoring a total of 173 points. Before participating in the Turkvision Song Contest she had also participated in New Wave in 2008, but withdrew after the semi final for personal reasons.

Uzbekistan was one of 25 countries and regions to take part in the first edition of the Turkvision Song Contest. Represented by Nilufar Usmonova they qualified for the final. In the final Nilufar performed “Unutgin” finishing 11th out of 12 countries. The countries best result to date is 7th place in 2014 when Aziza Nizamova performed “Dunyo bolsin omon” in Kazan, Tatarstan. The countries worst result came in 2015 when KaaPlya and Hurdona finished last in the final scoring just 119 points.
