Sardor Milano will be representing Uzbekistan at the finals of New Wave 2017 this September in the Black Sea Resort of Sochi.
Sardor Milano has been announced as one of the finalists in New Wave 2017. Auditions for this years contest were held in Moscow over the weekend, with the Uzbek singer selected as one of fifteen finalists in this years competition.
Sardor is known to Russian viewers for competing in Golos (The Voice Russia) as well as Glavnaya Stsena (X Factor Russia). Sardor went on to win Golos under the supervision of his Mentor, Konstantin Meladze. As part of Golos, Sardor was a finalist with Polina Gagarina’s team he finished fourth in the final of the competition.
Uzbekistan debuted in New Wave in 2003 and has participated a total of five times. They last took to the stage of the contest in 2011 when Duet “Twins” went on to finish 13th with a total of 297 points. To date the country has never finished within the top three of the contest.

New Wave was first held in 2002 in Jurmala, Latvia. The contest which is held over three days is open to singers age between 16 and 35 years old. The competition is incredibly popular within Eastern Europe with up and coming performers taking to the stage alongside well known guests from across the region. The contest has been a launching point for many careers including Intars Busulis, Natalia Gordienko and Jamala the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2016.
