Three more artists have been selected to go through to the finals of Sao Mai 2019, after the Central Highlands held their selection show.
The Central Highlands has held its regional final for Sao Mai 2019, with three more artists qualifying for the final. The show which took place in Da Nang saw eighteen singers competing in three categories for just three places in the next round of the competition. 6 singers took part in the chamber music competition, 5 contestants competed in folk music and 7 contestants took part in the light music contest.
The three artists selected by the jury were:
- Trinh Thi Linh Chi
- Phan Thi Quynh Anh
- Nguyen Thi Ngoc Nhung
The winner of Sao Mai will represent Vietnam at the ABU Song Contest 2019. The way in which the Vietnamese song for the competition will be selected has not yet been revealed. Sao Mai will be broadcast by VTV6.
VTV has participated in the ABU TV Song Festival annually since it was first held in 2012. The broadcaster also hosted the 2013 edition in Hanoi, and is one of just a handful of broadcasters to have taken part in every edition. The Vietnamese national broadcaster has also taken part in the ABU Radio Song Festival and the ABU International Dance Festival.
