Discussions are underway regarding Chile potentially hosting the first edition of the Eurovision Song Contest Latin America.
On October 17 a meeting was held between the Chilean Ministry of Culture and the Arts and Voxovation about the Eurovision Song Contest Latin America. Chilean Government disclosures show that a 1 hour meeting was held between the Minister of Culture and the rights holders to the Eurovision Song Contest Latin America, Voxovation who were represented by Omar Retamal and Greg Lipstone.
The topics discussed at the meeting were:
- Presentation of the Eurovision Song Contest: Discuss the possibility of Chile being the next host of this prestigious festival, which will require collaboration and support from the Ministry of Culture and the Arts.
- Cultural and Artistic Impact: Analyze how the festival can promote Chilean culture on an international stage, highlighting local talents and strengthening Chile’s cultural identity.
- Investment and Development Opportunities: Explore the economic and development opportunities that the festival will bring to Chile, including boosting tourism, creating jobs, and increasing Chile’s international visibility.
Eurovision Latin America was first announced in July 2022, with the contest being produced by Voxovation’s Christer Björkman, Anders Lenhoff, Ola Melzig, Peter Settman and Greg Lipstone, the producers of American Song Contest and Eurovision Song Contest Canada.
The Eurovision Song Contest Latin America was the third new version of the Eurovision Song Contest announced since 2019, but the first to cover multiple nations. Voxovation is currently proposing the following formats:

Chile is no stranger to International Song Contests being the home of the Viña del Mar International Song Festival.
